On this page you can find out more about me, what I've
done, where I live, what I like, where my interests are and all that boring stuff.
There are one or two photos on this site so it may take time to download, but I think you
might find it's worth a look.
My Photo Album |
This photo
shows one of New Zealands active volcanoes letting off a little steam. The picture
was snapped when I was on my way up to visit Heikell Transport for their Q
Base training.

This is an example of one of the houses I
used to build, this one is about 13 years old and is in Palmerston North. We used to also
relocate and renovate houses throughout the Manawatu, many of which were for the M.U.S.A.
as student accommodation. |

This is one of our family pets - Spike
He is a complete fox terrier ie all bits are still on him such as his tail, (I bet you
were thinking of other body parts) and he belongs to my son, James. |
The view from where I live would be great except someone planted a some Pine trees
about 30 years ago which tends to block any long distant view North toward Mt Ruapehu. My
family and I live in a rural setting where we run a few stock units (pet lambs) and the
kids bus to the local school. My office faces North |

 | Government Department (Ministry of Defence) where I served
with the Royal New Zealand Engineers as a Field Engineer , progressing through the system
to become an Instructor RNZE at the School of Military Engineering at Linton Camp. I
spent 8 years in the Army. |
 | After leaving the Army I was employed by Southern Cross
Machinery as a installer - serviceman, foreman for an company that built mobile
irrigators, water pumps, and windmills. |
 | I then moved to Coachwork International where it was my
responsibility to design and manufacture components in the sub assembly dept for the buses
they built. |
 | I left that company to form my own business, JJP
Enterprises, which was established in the Manawatu and employed staff in several areas of
operation:
 | Building Demolitions |
 | Fencing |
 | Explosives ~ Certified Construction Blaster & Safety
Supervisor |
 | Forestry |
 | Construction of domestic houses and light commercial
building |
 | Bridging ~ Design and construction of Kitset Rural Bridges
and associated earthworks |
|
 | I retrenched during the mid 1980's and was employed as a
self employed maintenance engineer on Otairi Station, in the heart of the Rangitikei,
where I was responsible for maintaining the 'on farm' roads (16km of class 3 roading),
buildings, and water supply (50km on farm high pressure scheme, with over 200 troughs) as
part of the Rangitikei Rural Water Supply Scheme . I also was involved with the local Boy
Scout troop, School Board of Trustees, and Sports Clubs. |
 | I was also involved as a self employed contractor with
private on farm water schemes, building maintenance, renovations and refurbishment until I
became a full time consultant with Summit Systems in 1995. |
